I highly recommend Melanie for anyone going through a divorce, especially a high conflict divorce. Despite efforts by other family lawyers that will increase your cost, Melanie tries to help you reach the best possible outcome without unnecessary expenses. She doesn't give you unreasonable expectations or create unnecessary conflict to increase your bill, but on the other hand will help you hold firm for a fair and reasonable outcome. She is quick to respond to your questions and will forward all communication from the other side promptly. As I've found with multiple different lawyers representing my ex, this is not always the case. I also found her much more knowledgeable of the law compared to other lawyers. And being a former prosecutor she is formattable against the other side in depositions quickly pointing out inconsistencies and misleading statements.
